Message The 300ZX is as safe as any other RWD car in the rain, just don't try to put down too much power.

Tires can make a difference in your wet performance, especially with reducing hydroplaning. Dunlop SP9000 with Hydromax is a good example of high performance tires designed with wet performance and reducing hydroplaning as design priorities. There are other good ones from other manufacturers. Do your research before choosing a tire.
